UMC was established in 1951 as a supplier of replacement spare parts (primarily chassis parts) . Consequent to establishing a firm customer base, the company ventured into manufacturing. With backward integration as its aim, a small manufacturing unit for multi-leaf springs and u-bolts was set up.
